Peggy Pedalo’s Boat of Hope Challenge

I love community projects. I love epic challenges, and I LOVE opportunities to do something silly. Particularly for a good cause.

So, on the 9th of May, to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, I’m doing my bit as an ambassador for the Boat of Hope child mental health campaign by pedalling 300 miles on a pedalo for charity. The campaign encourages us to have conversations with others. To talk AND to listen. This simple act could save someone’s life.

You can play a part in raising vital funds for young people in crisis by joining the Split Perspectivz team and me in eating up those miles by walking, running, or pedalling. Without your help, I’ll be stranded on my tiny boat morning, noon and night, a floating mosquito buffet, with only a tarpaulin for cover.

The support we’ve received so far has been incredible. So many people are pulling together to make this quirky event come true. The Lord Mayor of Liverpool will join us for the launch, with a special nautical performance by the SINGME Merseyside choir. It will be a day to remember and one that could make such a difference to the trajectory of many young lives across Merseyside.

By downloading the free Welba app, you too can join our Boat of Hope challenge. Add your profile, join the leader board and track your miles across the event. Keep fit, have fun and do something unique this year. There really is no better feeling.
